The Team

We share a love of music and technology and have a solid scientific foundation in analog and digital sound engineering. The musicians among us have practiced guitar, oboe, organ, piano, recorder, and voice for many years.

We know better than anyone how much time and effort it takes to master one piece of music: days, weeks, months sometimes. But we are prepared to do it.

Because we want to experience that one magical moment: the moment that we can perform the work: with goose bumps, shivers down our spines, tears in our eyes from emotion.

Ilke Verherstraeten, Deputy CEO

  • Looks after Finance, Administration, Purchasing, HR. Right-hand person to the CEO.
  • Loves classical music and sings in a choir.
  • Bachelor Marketing.

 

Mickaël Baudouin, Lead Audio Developer

  • Brings the Synchestra app to life.
  • Has been a C++ programmer of software applications and embedded systems for more than 20 years.
  • Is expert in digital music applications, UI and UX.
  • Plays guitar and bass guitar, sings, and is a songwriter.
  • Master of science in Méthodes informatiques appliquées à la Gestion.

 

Robrecht H. Paternoster, Chief Musical Officer, CEO

  • Monitors the musicological and scientific quality of the scores of musical works, and is responsible for the scientific research and development of the Synchestra app.
  • Studied as an amateur organ, piano, oboe, recorder (soprano, alto, tenor), choral singing, chamber music, harmony and music history.
  • Loves music from the 17th to early 20th centuries.
  • Chemical engineer and PhD in biomedical engineering.

  • Ensures digital sales and community building.
  • Has extensive experience in digital sales, both in B2B and B2C environments.
  • Plays guitar and bass guitar. Founder of The Ninety Eighty Four (metal band) and Wall of Fire (pop-rock-soul songs).
  • Master's degree in economics.

 

Rit Elst, SharePoint Administrator

  • Manages access rights to the SharePoint environment.
  • Is sounding board of the core team a.o. review of new ideas.
  • Loves many genres of music including world music and opera.
  • Material engineer, PhD in Engineering.

 

Sophie Paternoster, Senior Associate

  • Fulfils her role as shareholder accurately.
  • Is always willing to offer a fresh perspective.
  • Is expert in teambuilding and event management.
  • Master's degree in Communication Studies.

 

Yannick P. Paternoster, Senior Web Developer

  • Brings the website with its underlying music database to life.
  • Thoroughly knows PHP, CSS and advanced web development techniques UI and UX.
  • Studied drums, and is passionate about metal.
